Congratulations to Sharmin Siddiqui, who successfully defended her doctoral thesis in March! Dr. Siddiqui’s work focuses on how human activities and infrastructure impact riverine ecosystems, specifically quantifying the effects of landscape disturbance on ecosystem response and resilience in the Amazon basin.
Dr. Siddiqui reflects, “Being a part of the CFW and Watershed Ecology Lab has been a genuinely meaningful experience. I am honored to get to work with and learn from students, faculty, and staff that deeply care about their work and who have supported me in my journey as a scientist.”
Her tenacity, ability to never back down from an intellectual challenge, and enthusiasm to support her lab mates have made a tremendous impact on the lab and beyond.
